Sidekick is from Wānaka. If you are in town and want a honey-sweetened soda — real fruit, New Zealand honey, no cane sugar — these are four places that stock it: a coffee caravan, a lakefront resort, an upstairs eatery, and a neighbourhood restaurant.
This is not a “best of Wānaka” list. It is four named stockists. Fridges move. Ask staff if you cannot see a can.
Corner Peak Coffee
Corner Peak Coffee is the specialty coffee caravan on Sir Tim Wallis Drive in Three Parks. Outdoor seating, mountain views, Wolf Coffee from Arrowtown.
It is the café people mean when they say Corner Peak Café. Grab a can with the coffee, or sit outside. Three Parks is the work-and-errands side of town, not the lakefront.
Edgewater
Edgewater sits on the lake at 54 Sargood Drive — hotel, resort, and restaurant in one place. Look for Sidekick at the resort, including the lakeside restaurant.
This is the slow-afternoon stop: after a swim, a walk, or a night in the rooms. Same drink as the caravan. Different room.
Muttonbird
Muttonbird is the eatery and drinkery down Post Office Lane, off 33 Ardmore Street. Upstairs, shared plates, a drinks list that is not only wine.
Ask for a Sidekick with dinner or at the bar. Pear sits next to food. Cherry and Strawberry are the brighter cans. Mango is the tropical one.
Little Street Kitchen
Little Street Kitchen is the neighbourhood restaurant at 2 Little Street — sharing plates, a small room, people who live here.
Look for Sidekick with the meal or in the fridge. It is a restaurant serve, not a takeaway caravan.
