Labour Weekend fridge

Sodakick Cherry chilling in a chilly bin of ice

Labour Weekend is 23–26 October. The useful move is not a café hunt on Friday night. It is three boxes in the fridge before people turn up.

Sidekick is a honey-sweetened soda — real fruit, New Zealand honey, no cane sugar, no stevia. 250ml cans. Cold.

This is the long-weekend shop. The generic Saturday version sits on Weekend cooler with honey soda.

What to put in the box

Lead with Mango. It is the summer can people actually finish.

Keep Cherry in the same order. That is the restock flavour when the bright one runs out.

A three-box Fridge Fill that works for the weekend:

  1. Mango 12-pack
  2. Cherry 12-pack
  3. One other you will finish — Pear, Strawberry, or a second Mango

Build it on Fridge Fill. Free NZ shipping usually lands once you are over $120. Three boxes is the clean way there: three boxes and free NZ shipping.

Watermelon is a separate pre-order when it is on. It does not count as one of the three everyday boxes.

How many cans

Count adults who will drink soda, not the whole guest list.

Adults Cans (2 each) 12-packs
6 12 1
12 24 2
18 36 3

Eighteen people is a Fridge Fill. Order this week so the boxes are cold before Friday.

What goes on ice

Cans only in the tub. Ice to the rim. Labels up.

Keep water in the same cooler. Soda is the treat. It is not hydration. The trail version of that rule is How to pack a trail can.

Skip glass in a slurry. Pour a can into a glass at the table if you want one.

If you want a mixer

Ice, a can, cream if you like it. Keep the syrup light — the soda already has fruit and honey. The NZ builds are on Dirty soda, NZ edition.

What this is not

Not a venue list. Not a map. Not a last-minute hunt for a named fridge.

Want it in a café later? Suggest a store. For the weekend, shop Fridge Fill.
